Yeah...I don't really post here do I

Since the last time I posted....

We finished a soccer season in Lake Wylie, had the girls try out for Steele Creek, had Dehlia make a PDP team at Steele Creek, finish the school year and learn that Derek's company was relocating everyone back to NC to the Cary office and much more. We found out about the relocation on the last day of school. We found a house and moved within 3 weeks of the announcement.
New house....

We lived with Derek's brother for 2 weeks until we could close on our house in Holly Springs. We enrolled the kids in the school that they came out of.

Madison started Middle school (6th grade)
6th grader....

Dehlia in 3rd grade
3rd grader....

and Aric in Kindergarten!!
Kindergartner....

How has time flown so fast that they are this old?? The girls went into school on the first day and most of the kids didn't recognize them since they now had glasses. They would pull them off and the recognition would happen. It was great and made us glad that we moved them back into the school that they came from a year and a half earlier.

After hearing that we were moving back, we decided to have the girls tryout for the travel program of soccer that we had left in FV before. Both girls made it, so we dove in head first into soccer when we got here too. Got into the house and started building a fence for the dogs. Got that finished and kept busy getting the house settled.

Coasted through life with the birth of Matt and Melissa's little guy Matthew Jr. in November. The Happy Family
What a cutie! It is so nice to be able to enjoy the little guy and give him back when he gets fussy, etc.

Had a great Christmas here in NC. Happy New Year!!

Started the year off with soccer, go figure. Had everything come to a screeching halt in March when Derek's mom called me.....Derek's Dad had passed away. What a shocking time it was. the kids were getting ready for track out so we headed up there for Mom so that we could help her through all of this. Stayed for a week helping get the house settled and make sure that things were at a point that she could handle them. She is doing great now. Having connected to some of her High School Friends and having her quilting friends around has helped tremendously.

We have now been in Holly Springs for a year. Things are pretty settled. We put in a garden into the hill in the back yard and expanded the outline in preparation for next year.

The kids are doing great in school.

Madison - 7th grade,
Madison....

Dehlia 4th grade
Dehlia.....

and Aric 1st grade.
Aric.....

Soccer is ramping up for us right now. The girls are still on "travel" teams so practices are starting up now. Aric is still in Recreational so that will start around the beginning of the month. Looking forward to great seasons for all of them.

Maybe now that things are settled, I can keep up with this Blog, but I make no guarantees!

Later~

wow....

I am coming to think that this place is neglected....

I post once every other blue moon, then don't post for 3 months.

New Year's has come and gone. Heck, we're in February now!

Nothing too exciting has been going on.

Had a snowstorm at the end of January that we were able to go out and have some fun in. We went sledding as a family. Found that we have some GREAT hills in our neighborhood to sled down...if we ever get snow again.

Been busy planning the soccer season for the Spring. It will be starting at the beginning of March. I am torn both ways about it. I love watching the kids play and intereact with their friends and being able to see all our friends, but the scheduling nightmare that it brings with it....ugh! Hopefuly this season will run smoothly and the rain amounts that we've been having lately will decrease! we don't need a whole bunch of rainouts like we had last season.

Derek's birthday was 2 days ago. He went out to lunch with the guys from work....didn't invite me to go either! :( We did go out to Dinner at Sasaki, the Japanese Steakhouse here in Lake Wylie. It was pretty good. The kids really enjoyed the show that the chef put on and Derek and I enjoyed watching it thru their eyes. Derek also go to have some sushi, which is why he picked there.

Mom Lang is coming to visit this weekend. She wants to go to Mary Jo's to spend the gift certificate that she got for Christmas from us. We also want to make a trip to IKEA while she is here too!

Hope to get on here again in the near future, but I wouldn't hold your breath. ;)
